The domed wire frame lined in red silk and elaborately applied with wire and paper-backed motifs embellished with kingfisher feathers, simulated pearls, large glass faceted stones, and painted sections, representing dragons, phoenix, flowers and surmounted by a pagoda and a Chinese character, the back suspending a tasselled arc-shaped plaque, all resting on a lacquered paper headband simulating metalwork
