Delicately enamelled around the body with four fish swimming amidst hornwort and duckweed, beside an inscription, signed and with two seals
2½ in. (6.5 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The seal at the base reads:
Qingchuang dushu lou (The Clear-Window Study)

Deng Bishan is famous for his fish painting, for a washer with very similar decoration, see Innovations and Creations, Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum and Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2004, no.51.
