A PRINTED KORAN WITH LEATHER AND WOODEN COVERS.
India, 19th century

255 x 165 mm. The printed text block originally bound in red leather, the covers overlaid with gilt wooden covers elaborately carved with floral motifs. The leaves are slightly yellowed, the binding is slightly small and the leather is delaminating at the edge of the spine and front cover. Provenance: purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 27 December 1956.
