A PAPIER MACHE BOX
Persia, 18th century

335 x 215 mm. The box polychromed and laquered, with a scene of a celebration on the front, a religious ritual on the back, and a couple with musicians on the inside, all most likely relating to a wedding. It is possible this box was made for the occatsion of a wedding and used to keep the marriage certificates. With minor losses and chips on front and back.
