[HEBREW.] Machzor [Festival Prayers according to the Sephardic rite]. Venice: Bragadina, 1772.

Parts 3 and 4 (only). 12o (98 x 64 mm). (Some running titles trimmed away.) Contemporary Italian silver-gilt binding, covers with central lion holding leafy branch within a beaded oval shield with scalloped edges surmounted by a coronet, surrounded by olive branches, and a beaded border with scalloped corners, on a background of pale green and red colored metal foil, initials "AR" on upper cover and "IR" on lower cover, spine similarly decorated, two claps, gilt edges; contemporary sheep leather pull-off case richly gilt, with same crowned arms found on the binding. Provenance: purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 26 July 1956.

Probably a wedding present, for an important Venetian Jewish family, both the book and the slipcase in exceptionally fine condition.
