An extremly rare Hymn Book in Malagasy, one of the earliest books in that language. The volume was printed by the missonaries in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar (French: Tananarice), where a printing press was set up in 1826 by James Cameron. The simple binding is no doubt, from one of the first owners. See Darlow and Moule 6450.
