LIMITED EDITION, number 91 of 250 copies signed by Rochas and Marchand, this copy with an additional photogravure portrait INSCRIBED BY ROCHAS: "A mon collaborateur anonyme A C. Fuller souvenir d'un ... A. de Rochas." This copy has the Dissertation étymologique substituted for Le Paradis perdu and Lou Rhin devignaire as described in the Table par ordre de matières.

A splendid piece of book production, the first three sections deal with the history of paper, ink and color and the remainder of the book is printed on various kinds of tinted paper, all decorated in a variety of colors. 11 original samples of rare papers, from ancient papyrus to modern Japanese, are tipped in at end. RARE: only one copy appears in American Book Prices Current in the last 30 years: a copy bound ca 1910 in abstractly-decorated French calf, Sotheby's London, 27 June 1997, lot 34.
