AN IRISH DELFT BLUE AND WHITE PIERCED CIRCULAR BASKET
CIRCA 1755, HENRY DELAMAIN, THE WORLD'S END POTTERY, DUBLIN
The deep circular bowl pierced to the border with interlaced circles, painted to the centre with an Italianate landscape of a ruined arch beside trees with mountains in the distance within a roundel, the pierced border with dot and dash ornament above pendants, a swagged double line, the exterior with dot ornament (two faint cracks to the top edge of the rim at about 5 and 7 o'clock with some associated glaze flaking)
8¼ in. (21 cm.) diam.

The present example would appear to be unusual in that the beautifully executed landscape is framed within a single-line roundel, and the basket is formed with a border of 25 'touching' circles, see Peter Francis, ibid., p. 113.
