A George III mahogany striking drop dial wall clock
Allam & Caithness, London. Circa 1790
The 12in. diameter circular silvered dial signed Allam & Caithness London within the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, the five pillar movement with twin fusees and spring barrels with wire lines, half deadbeat escapement, rack strike on a bell, glazed cast brass bezel to the dial hinged on a turned mahogany frame, the box with pierced brass sound frets to the side doors and replaced moulded mahogany drop door beneath the carved ears
