A rare French gilt-brass hexagonal small striking table clock

The gilt-brass case with foliate engraved friezes, the six panels engraved with arched columns framing six engraved mythological figures each personifying a day in the week, the domed top having six moulded arches enclosing sound panels fretted with foliage, the detachable base plate engraved with a ribbon-tied wreath centred by a helmed warrior and pierced for two winding holes, the two-tier movement with plain columns, upper section with the going train with slender fusee and gilt capped spring barrel, re-built verge escapement with later balance wheel beneath the bell secured by six gilt-brass straps, the strike train with going barrel and countwheel set into the base plate resting on six bun feet, later foliate engraved silver dial with blued steel hand and Roman chapters
