Lot Essay

We are grateful to Professor Giancarlo Sestieri for confirming the attribution to Filippo Lauri on the basis of photographs. Professor Sestieri dates the painting to circa 1670, finding analogies with the frescoes in Palazzo Borghese, Rome.
