TOTOYA HOKKEI (1780-1850) Ukifune illustrating an episode from Chapter Fifty-one of Genji monogatari (The Tales of Genji) where the court lady Ukifune is wooed by Prince Genji's grandson, a surimono signed Hokkei, with the seal of the Akabane ren (The Red Bridge Club) poetry circle, with poems by Hananomon Masao, Akebono no Haruko and Fukukitei Kanemitsu, very good impression with silver and gold-coloured metallic powders, very good colours and condition Kakuban: 20.6 x 17.5cm.
