A BRASS TSUBA AND THREE IRON TSUBA
Edo Period (18th-19th Century)
A round brass tsuba carved in sukidashibori with the goddess Benten standing on a dragon, with signature Issando Joi and Kao; an oval iron plate carved in takabori and inlaid in gilt and silver takazogan with Gama Sennin and his toad, with gilt rim, signed Yasuchika; a hachimokkogata iron tsuchimeiji tsuba carved and pierced with two sparrows resting on a hoe, signed Yasuchika; and a broad oval iron ishimeji tsuba chiseled with waves in shishiaibori, silver and gilt detail, signed Yasuchika
