unsigned, the glazed compass with half-blued steel needle and clamp, eight points initialled in French and silvered circumference degree scale, the 8½-inch dia. semi-circle with 0-180° scale in both directions and two fixed sights, the alidade with twin sights and verniers, with a ball and socket joint and screw clamp to a staff mounting on the reverse
