An ivory snuff bottle and stopper, 19th Century
carved in relief with a depiction of the 'hob in the well' legend, with Sima Guang rescuing his friend from drowning by smashing the jar in which he had fallen, boys playing blind mans bluff to the reverse, the floral formed stopper with inlaid turquoise knop - 4in. (10.2cm) wood stand.
