Lot Essay

These are the personal collection of a native Bedfordshire lacemaker who learnt her craft from older relatives in the early part of the 20th century, and practiced it until her death in 1972. She mainly worked in Bedfordshire pillow lace. Some of the bobbins were family heirlooms and some were collected by her.
