Château La Fleur-Pétrus--Vintage 1970
Pomerol
Good appearance. Levels: seven into neck, two base of neck, two top and and one upper-shoulder
Tasting Note: A serious wine. Rich, ripe, noticeable acidity in the early 1980s when I first tasted it; also inimitable Pomerol texture. On the last two occasions a touch of malt or caramel on the nose which opened up spicily. A fairly sweet, fleshy, chunky mouthful, excellent with venison. Last tasted June 1995. **** M.B.
