Lot Essay

This chest incorporates the arms of the Croft family, Baronets of Croft Castle in Herefordshire. Specifically, the arms are of Sir Herbert Croft, 1st Baronet (d.1720), who was created a baronet in 1671. He was M.P. for Hereford in 1679 and from 1690-1698.
