Lot Essay

This type of guéridon was highly fashionable in France in the late 18th and in the early 19th Century. It was probably created by a marchand mercier. Interestingly, related gueridons with mahogany tops, undertiers and supports have been executed by Adam Weisweiler (1744-1820) who is linked to the foremost marchand mercier of that time, Dominique Daguerre.
