Crossbanded and line inlaid throughout, with a sliding top concealing a gilt-tooled red leather writing surface and a rising compartment with drawers and pigeon holes around a central door, and flanked to each side by a compartment with hinged cover, with a drawer and shaped apron below, on square tapering legs with brass capped castors
