The deep sides rounded above the neat ring foot and tapering very slightly towards the mouth rim, covered inside and out with a glaze of pale milky blue tone thinning to mushroom on the rim, the base similarly glazed

Lot Essay

Compare a Junyao bowl of very similar proportions included in the exhibition Song Ceramics from the Kwan Collection, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 22 July - 11 September 1994, pp. 116-7, no. 40. A slightly larger bowl is also illustrated in Mayuyama, Seventy Years, vol. I, Tokyo, 1976, p. 135, no. 395.
