The deep bowl molded with six lobes painted in Ming style with fruiting branches of peach, pomegranate and finger citron alternating with flower stems, above six panels of lingzhi sprigs on the spreading pedestal foot, and below a narrow classic scroll border at the rim repeated at the rim on the interior above a central lobed medallion of a fruiting and flowering peach branch, an apocryphal Xuande mark inside the foot
7¼ in. (18.4 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

A Yongzheng-marked stem bowl of this design was sold at Sotheby's, Hong Kong, 28 April 1998, lot 788.
