Gandhara, 2nd/3rd Century
Seated on a raised plinth with lion's feet and covered with a draped cloth, the hands in the gesture of teaching, wearing long flowing robes and armlets, his hair tied in a topknot and backed by the remains of a round nimbus with lotus petal border, the flask depicted on the base with a centered altar and flanked by two figures kneeling in adoration
