A bronze figure of Sridevi
South India, Tamilnadu, Late Chola Period, 13th century
Standing in tribhanga with the right arm raised on a round lotus base over a waisted square plinth with loop handles, wearing a long dhoti decorated with chevron and diaper patterns and secured with a beaded belt and sash with festoons around the waist, a breast-band connected to multiple necklaces, foliate armlets, bracelets and anklets, her face with a graceful expression surmounted by a conical headdress and backed by a floral halo, with rich brown patina overall
