A large gilt bronze figure of Akshobhya
Tibet, 15th century
Very finely cast seated in dhyanasana atop a double-lotus base with beaded rim, his hands in bhumisparsa and dhyana mudras, wearing a tightly fitted diaphanous robe with finely incised floral scroll border with beaded rims, his palms and soles of his feet incised with chakras, his face with a serene expression with downcast eyes beneath gently arched brows, his hair arranged in tightly wound curls rising to a domed ushnisha, the vajra cast in relief at the front rim of the base, richly gilt overall, the base sealed
