Carved as a six-tusked elephant, associated with the bodhisattva Fugen (Samantabhadra) and a Chinese lion, associated with the bodhisattva Monju (Manjushri), each carved and assembled from separate pieces with traces of gesso and polychrome pigments, each designed with lotiform saddles and blankets
