DeForest Kelley made a cameo appearance as a 137 year-old Dr. McCoy in "Encounter at Farpoint," the premiere episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Kelley's scene was shot on the first day of filming on the all-new Starship Enterprise-D for the new series. Actually, McCoy later appeared in two more Star Trek movies, although the character was much younger, those films were set in an earlier timeframe. This costume represents McCoy's final appearance in the Star Trek universe.
