Lot Essay

Leonard Nimoy's appearance on Star Trek: The Next Generation was also seen by many as a defining moment, as if Spock were somehow finally endorsing the new series. "Unification, Parts I and II" in Star Trek: The Next Generation were the first episodes to be aired following the death of series creator Gene Roddenberry in October, 1991. Paramount began the broadcast of both segments with a simple title card inscribed Gene Roddenberry, 1920-1991.
