Wheaton's last regular episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation was "Final Mission," during the fourth season. Wil Wheaton returned to the Enterprise-D for guest appearances in "The Game," "The First Duty," "Parallels," and "Journey's End." In that last episode, he disappeared to explore extra dimensional realms with The Traveler. He subsequently returned and finally enrolled at Starfleet Academy because he made a brief appearance, wearing a Starfleet dress uniform, in the wedding reception scene in Star Trek: Nemesis.
