Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country featured far more Klingons than had been seen in any of the previous Star Trek films. As a result, costume designer Dodie Shepard needed to make quite a few more Klingon costumes. Shepard's approach was to build on Robert Fletcher's work, expanding it to include more variations of style. The resulting costumes added both verisimilitude and credibility to the Klingon culture.
