As well as prints of Ponting's own photographs, the images include some evidently printed directly from Ponting's negatives and some printed from photographs of Ponting's work pinned on a hut(?) wall. The images include a photograph of a picture created by the Sphere newspaper in 1913 as a memorial to Captain Scott and his expedition (for which see M. Jones, The Last Great Quest: Captain Scott's Antarctic Sacrifice, Oxford University Press, 2003).
