Lot Essay

The bronzed copper and enamelled buckle designed by Jan Eisenloeffel and illustrated in Klokken Zilver Sieraden 1900-1930 is signed with his monogram, Blaricum and dated 1909-1912. The buckle has the same decoration as the roundel which covers the lock on the jewellery casket offered for sale here. It seems more than likely that both objects were commissioned by the same person.
