The single edged blade damascened with silver arabesque designs, both sides with a gold inlaid inscription within cartouches, one with two lines, one in Turkish and one in Arabic, the other side signed by the maker Sharif,the owner Sahib Hasan Aga and dated 1279, wooden hilt of typical form, leather covered scabbard- 28¼in. (71.7cm.) long
