Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1941 and its subsequent sale on 9 September 1942. It has never been offered in public before.

Manufacture of reference 1485 was launched in 1940 and is so far known only in stainless steel. The case was designed in the attempt to render it water-resistant by using the sliding sides. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 151.
