The present watch is a very fine example of a highly complicated wristwatch made by the celebrated house of Breguet, combining a chronograph mechanism and a one minute tourbillon, a device invented and patented by Abraham-Louis Breguet, founder of the renowned firm.

Its rarity is further enhanced by its case, made of platinum, the rarest of all precious metals which has always been the favourite of many collectors.

For a note on Breguet's invention of the tourbillon mechanism see lot 430 in this auction.
