Lot Essay

The present work was painted circa 1936, a year before Elsie Few married Claude Rogers. Pasmore had known Few since a boating holiday he had spent in 1935 with her and Rogers.

Elsie Few exhibited at the second Euston Road School exhibition in 1943. Her work is represented in the Tate Gallery, London.
