Lot Essay

Both Ragnhild Keyser and Franciska Clausen were studying under Fernand Léger in Paris at the time when the present work, Tambur (Vestibule) and Kubistisk komposition (Cubist Composition) (lot 24) were executed. Judging from the subject matter of the two works it could be possible that they both portray the very same still life composition that would have been set up for the students in the studio.
