Lot Essay

This extremely fine and rare example of British Folk Art is a rare survival described by Levi in his book....''Possibly a unique Welsh jug with original paint and satisfying artistry in the production of the beautiful curves of its body and handle. The classic pottery shape following the fashion of the period (mid 19th century). We have seen no comparable examples.''
