The crest is that of Godolphin for George William Frederick, 6th Duke of Leeds (1775-1838). The 6th Duke was a prominent patron of the turf, who removed his family seat from Kiveton to the grander Hornby Castle in 1811.
The 6th Duke of Leeds also ordered a pair of candelabra made by Paul Storr in 1816-17, illustrated in The Glory of the Goldsmith: Magnificent Gold and Silver from the Al-Tajir Collection, 1989, no. 143, p. 186.
