En forme de large pêche, laquée rouge, le couvercle et les côtés de la boîte rehaussés de branchages de bambous, lingzhi et pêchers en laque ocre, verte et brune, le couvercle agrémenté d'un rameau noueux de pêcher en relief, ce dernier terminé par deux gros fruits, l'intérieur laqué noir et rehaussé de rinceaux fleuris dorés, la base laquée brune ; quelques accidents et retouches

Lot Essay

An almost identical peach-form box and cover is illustrated in Qinggong yanyue Cangzhen, Beijing 2001, cover and pl.16. It is described as being an essential lacquer vessel used at the Wan Shou Festival banquet in celebration of the Qianlong Emperor's 80th birthday.
Compare with an identical box sold at Bonhams, London, 7 November 2005, lot 233.
