HUXLEY, Juliette (b. 1896). Autograph letter signed ('J. Baillot'), in French, to Ottoline Morrell, St Jame's [sic] Palace, 6 December 1916, 3 pages, large 8vo, thanking her for a visit to Garsington, where she found 'toute la Beauté, toute la joie de vivre'.

Stephen Spender was impressed by Huxley's presence at Ottoline Morrell's parties: 'Not only did the Irish as well as the English writers and poets attend on Ottoline, but the scientists and philosophers as well. Julian Huxley and his wife Juliette came often' (World within World, p.163).
