FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed on front paste-down 'Ottoline from the author Christmas 1919', and with author's compliment slip. A frequent visitor to Garsington, Keynes was principal representative of the British Treasury at the Peace Conference in 1919, but resigned in protest at the terms imposed on the Central Powers and wrote this prophetic analysis.
