TWO SATRICAL WORKS, APPARENTLY UNPUBLISHED. The 17-line 'Aubade' opens 'Surely stone-rolling Sisyphus was a scholar...'; 'Drinking Song' comprises two four-line stanzas, 'I have been to parties with hoboes and hearties' 'Carousal failed and champagne seemed unreal, And the world was alone with its light'. The style and content of both suggest that they date from the early 1920s, and were perhaps meant for inclusion in Sassoon's Satricial Poems published in 1926.
