A RECEIPT FOR "MADISON WINE," DISCREETLY BILLED TO THE "PRESIDENT'S SERVANT". "I have had the pleasure to receive yr. advice of the arrival of a pipe Madison wine, of...particular quality, with a bill on me from the house of Murdock & Compy. I comply for £65.11.0 strlg, which I return accepted. For your kind offer of service in procuring me hereafter some wine from that house, accept my thanks. I shall most probably avail myself of it, especially while I remain here. You will have the goodness to commit this wine to the charge of the President's servant or such person as he, & Genl. Mason may send to take charge of theirs."
