DOMAINE COMTE GEORGES de VOGUE

Musigny Vieilles Vignes Comte Georges de Vogüé is a wine of legendary delicacy, perfume, complexity and beauty, with Bonnes-Mares being usually more structured, often requiring even more years to reach its peak.

The present head of the family is Elisabeth, Baroness de Ladoucette, the 19th generation to own the property and the only daughter of the late Comte George de Vogüé who died in 1987. A dynamic team then took over the management, consisting of vineyard-manager Eric Bourgogne, cellar-master Francois Millet and sales director Jean-Luc Pipin.

Levels: one 2cm, four 2.5cm, one 3cm; bin soiled labels, one torn, one slightly scuffed
"A surprisingly fresh nose of spice and earth combines with medium weight, racy, pure, detailed flavors that deliver plenty of finishing richness and overall finesse, all wrapped in a touch of backend structure. This is drinking perfectly now and was decidedly better than expected as several prior bottles were only good if not better." BH, November 18, 2005
