A doucai ingot shaped dish, early 18th Century
painted in underglaze blue and coloured enamels, the exterior with birds standing on rockwork displaying colourful tail feathers alternating with panels of flowering chrysantheum, the interior rim with four cartouches of Buddhist precious objects dividing the cross-hatch border, a ruyi-septre decorates the central well - 5 3/8in. (13.7cm) wide.
