A pair of large cloisonne baluster vases, 19th century
each decorated with birds, butterflies and insects amidst leafy floral and bamboo sprigs reserved on a sectional swastika ground, below the shoulder enamelled with the Bajixiang ('Eight Buddhistic Emblems') alternating with foliate peony sprays, the waisted neck with meandering lotus scrolls, surmounted by a ruyi-head border below the key-fret decorated metal mounted rim, supported on a splayed metal rimmed foot with lotus scrolls -- 33 7/8in. (86cm.) high. (2)
