Lot Essay

Gerald Stonehill's library of Duo-Art was sold as lot 123 on 31 May 2006 in the sale Mechanical Music and Technical Apparatus. This lot, like the next, contains rolls which are either duplicates from the main collection of Duo-Art, or practice and demonstration ones which were excluded from the main library.

The good playable condition of these rolls shows that they may have taken turns in their use for recording or for playing pleasure. The Duo Art mechanism parts which are included in lot 68, are considered as working spares and show little signs of continued use.
