Lot Essay

Plateelbakkerij Haga in Purmerend was the result of a fusion between the factory Wed. B. Brantjes in Purmerend and the sculpture factory H.F. Antheunis in The Hague. It existed only for three years. After Chris Lanooij left Haga in 1907, the company was taken over by Amstelhoek. The present lot was apparently part of the Haga inventory and therefore bears the marks of both Haga as Amstelhoek.
