With its discrete mouldings and sober pilasters, this meuble à deux corps illustrates the transition between the medieval furniture -which is often slightly over-decorated with sculptures- and the 17th century furniture which is inspired by the oeuvre of the engravers. The biggest French city at that time, LYon was a center for the Arts and especially for furniture-making.
